Saint-Beauzire: opening ceremony of our new site in France dedicated to Drug Products
The inauguration
The inauguration of our new production site dedicated to the manufacture of drug products took place on Friday 3 February. The company gathered 250 guests - employees, members of the group, suppliers, partners, local elected officials and representatives of the state - to celebrate this milestone for the company.
Several people took the floor during the speeches to pay tribute to the incredible work achived by the CARBOGEN AMCIS team: Angie STEVENS (General Manager CARBOGEN AMCIS France), Marc BERTAUD (Director of the Saint-Beauzire project), Jean-Pierre HEBRARD (Mayor of St-Beauzire), Frédéric BONNICHON (President of the RLV Agglomeration Community and Regional Councilor Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes), André CHASSAIGNE (Member of Parliament), Olivier MAUREL (Deputy Prefect of Riom) and Pascal VILLEMAGNE (CEO of CARBOGEN AMCIS Group).
Then Pascal Villemagne, CARBOGEN AMCIS CEO and Arpit Vyas, Global Managing Director of the parent company Dishman Carbogen Amcis cut the ribbon to mark the opening of the site.
A mural painting was also revealed during the ceremony in the occasion of the inauguration. A local artist, made a 5 x 3 meters graphic to represents the local geography with winks to our business.
The new facility
The new site is dedicated to the custom development and production of sterile injectable drug products. Built on newly acquired land located 7km from an existing CARBOGEN AMCIS site in Riom, the new facility increases product development and manufacturing capacity for liquid and freeze-dried products for pre-clinical and clinical trials as well as small scale commercial use.
The construction of the new production unit started in January 2021, in the midst of the Covid crisis and in a very tense context with regard to the availability and costs of raw materials. However, the work was completed on schedule at the end of 2022. The qualification of the various equipment is underway and the launch of the first productions is planned for the first quarter of 2023.
Significant job creation
Over the past two years, the company has created more than 80 jobs directly linked to the creation of the new production site. And around fifty additional positions are to be filled over 2023 in various fields: development, production, support functions, projects, quality assurance, maintenance, quality control, etc.
