Maintenance Engineer

  • The main purpose of this role is to undertake all aspects of Maintenance in a professional and safe manner in order to produce results to the required quality and within the time and cost budgets allocated by the Maintenance Manager.

    To perform Mechanical, Building, Electrical Maintenance and Projects to continuously improve Plant uptime and reduce overall Maintenance costs. Maintain equipment and buildings to meet production and regulatory requirements.

    To work with Team Leaders and other colleagues in order to ensure that individual and Company performance targets are met.

  •  Main duties and Responsibilities 

    • Ensure the timely maintenance of all plant equipment
    • To undertake the requirements of examinations required by the regulations of all pressure systems and written schemes
    • To ensure completion of all Maintenance and projects to the highest professional standards, fulfilling the requirements of safety and current regulations
    • To ensure the availability of all resources required to complete allocated Maintenance and projects on time and within budget
    • To perform Planned Preventative (Running) Maintenance on a scheduled basis optimizing plant equipment to improve safety, quality, reliability and productivity
    • To perform Planned Shutdown Maintenance requiring forward planning for maintenance to perform planned maintenance, repair, replacement and new installations
    • To perform Unplanned Emergency Maintenance requiring diagnostic skills to determine faults and how to correct them
    • To ensure all Risk Assessments and Method Statements are carried out and documented 
    • To perform Planned Corrective Maintenance requiring diagnosis of the nature of repetitive failures of equipment and apply modifications to avoid re-occurrences of such failures and restore to an acceptable level
    • To perform and adhere to permit to work procedures and sign as required
    • Ensuring compliance with regulations / instructions for Safety, Quality, Hygiene and Environmental
    • Ensuring to comply to procedures in the areas of Safety, Quality, Hygiene and Environment


    • Our ideal candidate will be a pro-active, hands on and pragmatic team player
    • Coordination and organization of working together with all other departments and external parties (such as Regulatory authorities)
    • Self-motivated and passionate, with excellent communication skills
    • Time served Apprenticeship (Maintenance related)
    • Preferably experienced in hands on general chemical plant maintenance
