Project Chemist

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Chemist to join our PR&D team. As a Project Chemist, you will undertake chemical projects in a professional and safe manner in order to produce results to the required quality and within the time and cost budgets allocated by the company, oversee the overall scope of project delivery.
You will work closely with team leaders and other colleagues in order to ensure that individual and company performance targets are met.
Main duties / Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with other scientists to ensure completion of each project within allocated time and within budget
- Support problem solving if any difficulties arise in the project
- Continually assess the progress of each project and ensure that the customer is kept informed of the progress
- Support and direct the work of Development and Kilo laboratory chemists to ensure that project targets are met
- Ensure that the raw material requirements (quantity, quality, timing) for laboratory investigations and production operations are understood and organised
- To present reports, both written and verbal, when required, to both customers and work colleagues
- To work in a clean, safe and tidy manner adhering to company policy on 5S
- Communicate project objectives to relevant project team members within QC and Production departments
- Ensure all correct procedures are followed, work is to an appropriate standard, and make suggestions to help ensure they are maintained and developed
Requirements
- 3 years relevant experience required, in particular experience of developing processes and transferring them to production plants
- Qualified to at least degree (BSc) level preferably higher (MSc / PhD) in a Chemistry related vocation
- Must be proficient in use of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel, chemical structure drawing and literature searching tools such as Chemdraw, ACD Labs and Reaxys
- Self-motivated and passionate, with excellent communication skills
- Relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects
